Benefits of Bee-ing Happy

National Happiness Happens Day is August 8th. It’s a day that encourages you to feel moments of happiness throughout your day. From laughing with friends to happy conversations with family, it’s a great reminder of how being grateful can really change your life. This year has brought a lot of anxiety and stress for people, through Covid-19. So, I’ve created a list of tips to help you practice happiness in your everyday life.

1. Soak up sweet Vitamin D

Going outside during quarantine is extremely important. Spending a few minutes in nature has proven to improve physical health and mood, which reduces stress and increases your self-esteem. So, get outside and smell the flowers. Outdoor activities like planting a garden are a great way to improve your mood, and save the honey bees.

2. Bee Creative

Creative activities are great for your brain, because we tend to be more analytical all day long. Picking up a hobby, arts and crafts or coloring is exciting and a great way to boost your mood. I personally love coloring bright, beautiful flower portraits.

3. Find a way to Volunteer

Research has shown a buzz of benefits behind volunteering. Most people who volunteer report they are more satisfied with their life and have better mental health. Luckily, there are a lot of options to virtually volunteer right now. Read our website to educate yourself on how you can give back and save the bees.

4. Treat Yourself

Treating yourself to a sweet snack or refreshingly tangy drink is a great way to put a smile on your face. Try a lemonade with no caffeine or high-fructose corn syrup so there’s no need to worry about an unhealthy drink.

5. Take a Break

Working from home and school online, can bring higher levels of stress. When there aren’t as many opportunities for breaks, it’s harder to recharge. Taking breaks is important to accomplish more and get a brain boost. How do you like to take breaks? Share with us through social media and tag @mikailasbees on National Happiness Happens Day.
